Roller Blading

This past Monday Martin, Charlotte and I went roller blading. I was wearing knee pads and wrist pads. One of the wrist pads I was wearing was giving me a briuse on my arm so I took it off about half way through our ride. Martin is a way better roller blader than me. I have to plan every move. So he was pushing Charlotte. We get to the lake and we are cruising along and just past the lake is a steep hill with a 90 degree corner at the end. Martin didn't think to warn me about it and I had decided in my head to suck it up and try it. I think during the hill I even yelled to martin, "Oh no I'm in trouble." At the bottom of the hill right as I was turning my left foot flew forward and my chest flew backwards. Splat! Broken Debbie on the concrete. Just so happens I fell on my wrist that didn't have a wrist pad. I went to the doctor it wasn't broken just a really bad bruise. It is feeling better but still hurts to move it. Thanks to my mother-in-law Charlotte didn't have to live on the floor with me.

Jogging!

So I decided to blog about jogging in hopes it will keep me motivated. I have gone jogging or rather jog/walking twice this week. I am so out of shape it is ridiculous. I was so sore from the first jog that I didn't want to go today but I made myself. My plan is to go Mon, Wed, Fri at 5 pm. Charlotte loves to go in her jogging stroller, she falls asleep. I also love all the trails in our neighborhood. I don't have to worry about rough roads, traffic or finding safe places to go. Now that I am getting out I do miss having a dog. I have never not had a dog to go jogging with. I guess a Charlotte to go jogging with is better than any dog!

Cincinnati Art Museum

My favorite picture at the museum

Me being a dork next to an African statue

The Cincinnati Art Museum was amazing. I loved it. They had a China design. exhibit that was from the 80s to now and I was blown away by there innovation and design. The China exhibit had mostly graphic design and architecture. I got some cards made by Charley Harper a famous artist. None of his work was displayed so I was kinda bummed. Also the cafe was delicious. If you are ever in the Cincinnati area I would definitely recommend visiting the museum.

Ginger and Javier Visit

Charlotte and I hiking the California hills (the ocean is in the background)

New $30 stroller Ginger bargained for at the REI Garage sale.

This weekend we went to visit Ginger and Javier. We went to REI Garage Sale, ate at a yummy Hawian restaurant, went hiking, went to Target and ate real Mexican food. We also played Carcassone like a million times, I lost every time.

Christmas at Desert Botanical Garden

Great Grandma Irene and Charlotte

Cute Picture of us!

Ginger, Javi, Grandma, Jay, Brad, Spencer, Russ, Sharon, Hiedi, Ellie, Kari, Dad, Me, Charlotte, Martin

Before we left for Ohio my family took a trip to the Desert Botanical Garden. If you haven't noticed, my family loves to go here. I think I have been like 3 or 4 times in the last 2 months. Charlotte rode around with her Great Grandma and everyone fought over her. We took a group picture. Lots of the people in the picture are part of my step mom's family. We spend a lot of time with them.

After the Garden we ate at a My Florist. A great little restaurant in Phoenix. I was so glad the piano wasn't going while we were there. It is soooooo loud.

Later that night we had desert, played games and openned present. It was a fun day!

Trip to Flagstaff

I took a trip to Flagstaff this weekend to go to a craft fair and visit some family. The first picture is a quilt I started in High School. I finished in college and last month my aunt Brenda had it quilted for me. It is quilted with large and small stars. It is beautiful. I is sideways in teh picture. I didn't really want it so I am letting her sell it. Most people would probably think I am crazy but I am not that sentimental, I would rather have someone else enjoy it.
The second picture is my cousin Sheryl. She lived with us for 3 years while I was in High School. She goes to school at a boarding school in Flagstaff and is a cheerleader. She seems to be doing really good. Sorry I look dumb in the picture my mom doesn't know how to count to 3 and take a picture.

Coupling Weekend

Martin and I are too cheap to pay for cable and basic comes with our house. We do have our computer hooked up to our TV, which is a bonus for us. We use the computer to watch movies and shows off of NetFix instant watch. This past weekend we didn't feel like doing anything so we stayed at home and watched all 4 seasons of Couplings. It was so much fun and it is such a great show. It is a slightly more scandalous version of Friends. If you get a chance you should check it out but don't watch the American version the British version is much better.
