Coordinating Starfish Set

I made these coordinating pieces for my mother-in-law to give to a family as a gift. The dress is for the 9 month old girl, the tote is for the mother and the shorts are for the 3 year old boy.

If you want me to make you a coordinating set just email me doodlebug@gmail.com

Florida Pan Handle

This week I took a trip to visit my grandfathers family i n Florida. We stayed in Quincy and Pensacola. I ate way to much southern cooking, went fishing and visited the beach.

This is a store that my great uncle owns and operates, well now his son does. They have a crazy butcher shop. They had all sorts of pork parts and 10 different kinds of corn starch . They cater to southern cooking.

My great aunt has a boat house just outside of Quincy, Florida. We spent one day fishing with cane poles . I caught 3 turtles, a needle fish and some brim. We didn't keep anything.

On out way to Pensacola we stopped on the side of the road to pick strawberries. You could eat them off the plant. They were so good. I think I ate a pound.

On our way to Pensacola we also stopped at Panama Beach to stick our feet in the sand. I love Florida sand, it is white and fine.

The last day we stopped at the Pensacola Beach, Charlotte loved to eat sand.

From Dirt to Patio

Our yard is almost done and I already love it. The grass is synthetic because we don't have even light in our yard. All that is left is refill the cracks with sand/cement, possibly seal the tile and plant a few smaller pots. In the future we would like to get some new patio furniture, an umbrella or canopy and a fountain. Charlotte loves to be outside so I am excited for her to sit in the grass and play. Now I am wishing I wouldn't have put off ordering the screen door.

Purse Preview

Here is a picture of a purse I made last night. I am gonna make some more to sell but this was the prototype. I needed to test out the pattern I am using. I am gonna add pockets and probably make smaller and larger ones. I love the pleats and simplicity of the bag. I am thinking of doing solids with prints for linings.

Debbie's Favorite Food & Dessert Shops

If you haven't already been to these places then put them on your list:

Joe's Farmhouse Grill and Coffee Shop - Gilbert, AZ
You have to go for breakfast. It is so good. The Coffee shop is sometimes less busy and has some of the same food items as the grill. I love the sweet potatoe fries and garlic fries.

Iron Chef - Gilbert, AZ
The best Chinese American food around. The family meal is $30 bucks and could seriously feed 6 people.

Laguna Cafe - Mesa, AZ
Frybread, almost as good as the stuff my grandma makes.

Bahama Bucks - Valley wide
Shaved Ice

Gelato Spot - Valley wide
Gelato

The Streets - Mesa, AZ
Boba tea

Le Grande Orange - Phoenix, AZ
Pizza, wings, sandwiches salad, desserts, kind of yuppie but great! Get the red velvet cake!

Pita Jungle - Valley Wide
Good hearty food, love the hummus.

Ranch De Tia Rosa - Mesa, AZ
The best Mexican food restaurant you will ever go to. My favorites are the green corn tamales, spinach enchiladas, chicken mole and sopapillas. The atmosphere is spectacular. If the wait is too long order take out from the Taqueria.

The Farm - Phoenix, AZ
I like breakfast and lunch here the best.

Bellagio Pizzeria - Mesa, AZ
I love the salads and kabobs.

The list may continue to grow as I remember more places.

Baby Clothes

Last night I whipped this cute little dress out of some left over fabric. I was so excited to find such great fabric in my left over pile. I made a sling out of the same fabric. I love it! I tied up the straps because I was too lazy to re-sew them to her size. I also tied a bow on her headband to match. The night before I made her a shirt that was a similar design but a halter and some pants. I am gonna make a appliqué onesie to match the pants. This is one of the easiest patterns. I am kinda bummed because it has been chilly the last few days so she hasn't gotten to wear them out.
